Experienced Utility Coordinator

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

SRD Engineers is currently seeking an experienced Utility Coordinator to assist with operations on projects throughout Central Florida. The Utility Coordinator works closely with the Engineer of Record in the development of utility documents. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying utilities and implementing strategies to clear any conflicts that could arise and establishing a coordination between the client, utility companies, and other entities. This position requires a self-starter with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, willingness to learn and ability to train and mentor others. Qualified candidates must be able to work in a high demand environment on projects throughout the state, coordinating daily with management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing agreements, plans, and specifications submitted by the utility company.
  • Implement and Interpret policies and procedures as they relate to utility adjustments, relocations, negations, reimbursements, and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Identify potential utility conflicts by reviewing plans.
  • Monitor and track utility work schedules to ensure delivery timeliness.
  • Resolve utility/ roadway conflicts through coordination with the Engineer of Record and utility agency owners.
  • Prepare, process and maintain documents, references, and/or resource materials.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 4+ years of prior practical experience performing utility coordination for transportation projects according to established state and federal standards, policies, procedures and design criteria.
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT utility coordination practices and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Public relations experience for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals
  • Ability to communicate technical and complex information and multi-task
  • The candidate should have basic computer skills and be able to learn and understand new software.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

SRD Engineers is currently seeking a dependable, full-time Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant for our Tampa Office. Candidates should be reliable and self-starting. Office duties will include but are not limited to providing administrative support to accounting manager, manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, expense reports and assisting with payroll & Human Resources, backup support for accounting software, answering and directing all incoming calls, and filing. Additionally ordering and replenishing office/field supplies (may including lifting up to 50 lbs.) and assist project managers/engineers and office manager with day-to-day office operations. A comprehensive understanding of office administration, and related accounting tasks, is required.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to the accounting manager
  • Managing Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Handling expense reports and assist with payroll & Human Resources
  • Answer and direct incoming calls
  • Perform filing duties

Position Overview:

SRD Engineers is actively hiring for the position of Project Manager 1 or 2 /Civil Engineer 2 with Professional Engineer (PE) license and 5 + years of Post Registration Experience in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of performing engineering analysis for transportation projects for the State of Florida.

As a Project Manager with SRD, you will have the opportunity for career growth and advancement. You will be responsible for designing and managing projects, including assignments for the Florida Department of Transportation and local municipalities throughout the state. Building strong relations with clients and staff, as well as maintaining high project standards and exceeding client expectations, will be key aspects of this role.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Required)
  • Licensed Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 1 year (Required)
  • Post Professional Registration Experience in excess of 5 year, pay will be commensurate with your level of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of highway/roadway civil engineering transportation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of design manuals including FDOT Design Manual, FDOT Standard Plans, FDOT Standard Specifications, AASHTO A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, and Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
  • Working knowledge of 3D workspaces/corridor modeling
  • Some project management experience with various governmental agencies (FDOT, FTE, Cities and Counties) is a plus but not required.
  • FDOT design experience including RRR and major reconstruction on limited access facilities, rural/urban arterials, and bicycle/pedestrian facilities preferred
  • Working knowledge in MicroStation, Geopak, FDOT Connect, Open Roads, CADD, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License and authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

Under the guidance of Florida Registered Professional Engineer, you will be involved in designing plans, specifications, and reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Computer-aided design and drafting of site layout, roadway, grading, and utility systems using MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil3D and Open Roads Designer.
  • Assist in report preparation, site analysis, and collaboration within project teams.
  • Stay updated on regulations and standards relevant to project design and permit.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
  • Contribute to environmentally sustainable engineering solutions for our communities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Engineering Intern (E.I.) License (Required)
  • Proficiency in CADD, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
